Our philosophy is that the dining experience revolves around the guest, and with just six rooms, we are small enough to completely tailor the experience to what our dinner guests want.
Our cuisine is a combination of the most desirable and freshest local produce, prepared in an internationally recognized manner, completed with a South Pacific flavor.
Breakfast is a casual affair, taken in the sunny breakfast room adjoining the main kitchen. A continental breakfast is laid out, and guests are encouraged to talk to the chef when deciding what to order for a hot breakfast - our policy is 'whatever, whenever' - there's no formal menu to choose from and no strict timings you need to adhere to.
Lunch is included in the tariff, so guests often either lunch at the lodge, or we pack a picnic lunch if you're heading out for the day.
We write a new dinner menu daily, based around our guests' likes and dislikes. The evening experience begins with canapes and drinks at 7.00pm, then we seat you around 7.30pm for a four course meal designed that day by our Chef. A different Nelson wine is chosen from our extensive wine cellar and matched to each course, so guests are able to sample a selection of the finest local wines. (The vineyards are all close by, so if you come across a wine you particularly enjoy, you can visit the winemaker or picnic amongst the very vines).
Alternatively, if you prefer something a little lighter for dinner, our Chef is happy to make just a couple of courses for your evening meal, or maybe you'd prefer gourmet pizzas while you watch a movie in our comfortable library!
Whatever your preference, we can accommodate you. Either take your meals with fellow guests or dine in one of the many private areas around the lodge - the choice is yours, and whatever you decide, we will go to every length to ensure it is a truly memorable experience.
All meals and beverages are included in the tariff.
